Melbourne Cup Day!

Today, 1st Nov, is Melbourne Cup Day. Well, it's just a horse race in Melbourne, but the whole country celebrates. All of Victoria (the state Melbourne is in) even has it as a holiday off. The rest of the country just stops working at around 2PM to watch it on tellie (TV).

So, the winning horse is Makybe Diva, again. Three years in a row. I think it made history or something. Everyone here is wild about it.

Random observation: I picked up a package of Wrigley's Juicy Fruit at the shop today. To my surprise the gum are in pellets instead of sticks. The packaging is the same as in the states, long and narrow, but when I unwrapped it expecting to pull out a stick of gum, out popped a piece of "Chiclets" shaped gum.
