Let's look on the bright side...

As a result of the suspected terrorist plot to blow up more planes coming into the USA from Britain a few days ago, there are new rules about what you can bring onto the aircraft as carry-on. I think people bring way too much stuff with them as carry on luggage anyways. Let's look on the bright side. Since people aren't bringing on their whole closets anymore, it will speed up the boarding and deplaning process at arrival. If you've ever sat in coach and had the misfortune to sit behind grandma or the family with the screaming rugrats and they're trying to get all of their overhead luggage down you will know what I mean. I don't know about you, but after a long 14 hour flight I just want to get off the plane as quickly as possible. Now imagine, since no one has any carry-ons, how fast it would take to board and deplane? I think this is a great side-effect. On the other hand, you're no longer allowed to bring on your computer or iPod or books. You are at the mercy of onboard entertainment. Lousy in coach but bearable in business or first.
